Festival de Crustaceos de barra de Sao Joao

On June 22, after the Belgium vs. Russia match, we went to a festival celebrating the people and cultural of the north country, where there was music, dancing, food, local, crafts, souvenirs, and a carnival in what was an incredibly festive atmosphere.
Troy Tanzer and Mckenzie Pezze don period costume of the region.

The place was jam-packed with Brasileiros, and it was obvious that we were about the only gringos at the festival . . . which made for an interesting spectacle.

The group enjoys another fine meal, this time a sampling of northern Brazilian fare.

Continental Solidarity: USA vs. Portugal

Two CISB Seminar Abroad alumni who attended the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa -- Dave Fitzpatrick and Tim Conrod -- sent this photo of themselves watching the USA-Portugal match stateside, while the second and third photos show several of our current Seminar Abroad students cheering the Red, White, and Blue from Rio!

Pin Trading

Even though we say "trading," such is not the tradition at the World Cups as it is at the Olympic Games.  Nonetheless, our students have been interacting with strangers from other lands through the simple gesture of these friendship pins.

This special edition pin denominates our nickname during the World Cup as the "Golden Bear F.C." (Futbol Club).

Random Photos 8

Everywhere we go, our students have made friends through the gesture of giving out pins that depict the USA and Brazilian flags, as shown here with Andrea Canales pinning Britt Masback.

Okay . . . who's arm is that placing Dr. Linda Jones' head atop the statue?

McKenzie Pezze makes friends wherever she goes!

Yet another example of international friendship and goodwill!
