On Monday, we experienced a schedule snafu because we thought our tickets for the men's field hockey match was at 8:30 a.m., but it was in fact scheduled for 1:45 p.m.! Consequently, since we had some rare "found" time in the morning, students were able to get caught up on a few things, such as doing their laundry, preparing for their seminar presentations, writing postcards, doing more shopping, and getting in a quick nap. In the afternoon, some students went with Dr. Covell to the hockey match at Olympic Park while the other students went with Dr. Walker and me to Windsor Castle.
Today, we had a split program once again, but this time by pre-arrangement. Marisa Harris, Ryan Coseo, Lauren Silvis, Laura Madaio, RJ Suhre, Dennis Rinaldi, and Anthony Camardi went with Dr. Covell to see archery at Lord's Cricket Ground, while Lydia Lefevre, Maria Francese, Jenn Mears, and Heather Mears went with Dr. Walker to serve as volunteer hosts at the Truce Foundation's Reception and Awards Ceremony at the East India Club. Meanwhile, Emily Savino, Nick Varney, Dan Colton, and Jason Titelbaum accompanied me to the United States Olympic Committee's High-Performance Center located at the University of East London's Docklands campus. Photo is of the five of us shown with USOC Senior Director for International Games Doug Ingram at the HPC.
